Have you ever encountered a dull hallway that either made you scared or bored? Does your home have these awkward and dull hallways? Hallways are a great feature in a home; however, when not treated properly, they can just be a dull and boring walkway. Sometimes, no matter how many apartment renovations you do, you just cannot seem to get the right treatment you want. This happens a lot when treating up a hallway. The thing that makes it difficult to treat a hallways is that they are often very long. And the immediate instinct of most homeowners is to bring in as much furniture to fill up the space, which only makes the hallways crowded. Sometime, it is all about bringing in the right elements. So if you are planning a renovation that will involve a makeover of that hallways soon, here are a few ideas you need to keep in mind:

  1. Create an instant picture gallery – Have you ever tried painting the wall with a solid and interesting color and thought it would do the trick? An interesting color may catch the eye easily, but if there is literally nothing in that hallway, it will still look dull. So aside from an interesting paint color, create an instant picture gallery by putting together frames of the different sizes and color. If you have a particular theme in mind, you may choose to get frames from different shades of one color, but be sure to get them in different sizes to create a sense of variety.
  2. Interesting lighting fixtures – If you have a very tight hallway at home, you may just as well go for a minimalistic treatment. You can do this my bringing in beautiful pendant lightings that will fill the entire stretch of the hallway. Be careful about the length of the lighting fixtures as you do not want to make that area short as it is already tight. Aside from creating an instant facelift, this will instantly make that area lighted up, thus eliminating any scary hallway stigma for the kids.
  3. A mural – Instead of a simple painting job, you can just transform that wall in the hallway into a beautiful mural. There are lots of talented artists who will be willing to do this for you. Aside from creating an instant artistic treatment, this is also somewhat a minimalistic option as the space you have stays as it is, as you would not have to bring any additional furniture in.

From time to time, there will be dull and boring spots in the house that just do not seem to get the makeover it needs after several apartment renovations. Sometimes, the trick is to know the right elements to bring in. And perhaps sometimes, you may just be overthinking and bringing in all the unnecessary clutter your hallway does not need. Sometimes, you just need to be a bit more creative and resourceful in making over spaces like this.
