All of us have perhaps been through that love-hate relationship with our bedrooms. While most times we love being in there, there will be times when we just want to rip the whole place down. A huge bedroom remains a dream for a lot of people. People living in New York City for example, are so used to the crumped spaces in their apartments that they could not do anything about their tiny bedrooms anymore. Being stuck in a small apartment sure is difficult; however, it does not mean that you cannot do anything about your uninteresting bedroom anymore. Here are four quick tips on how you can give that bedroom an easy makeover:
- Clean up clutter – Yes, you heard me right. The first thing you need to do is get on your feet and face that clutter and actually clean it up. You must have dreaded that idea for a long time; but before you can even start bringing in a new atmosphere into your bedroom, you need to clean up all the mess and give yourself a clear slate to work on.
- You need to let some things go and some things in – You would not need a decorator to tell you how to make your bedroom look different. You just need to have the determination and willingness to let go of some of those pieces you once held dear. You will need to replace some important fixtures like dressers, lamps, headboards and carpets. A decorator may even advise you to let go of some trinkets that will not match your new theme anymore. Accept a new environment and move yourself along with the changes.
- Recolor your world – After you have replaced some important pieces, you need to introduce a new color to your bedroom. Painting your walls can be one of the easier parts of this process. Choose which color to paint your walls with and make sure this goes well with your chosen theme. Painting your walls is also a good activity to share with friends. A helping hand at this point will not hurt!
- Splurge on better beddings – Your bed is the central element of your bedroom. It will reflect who you are and what you want in life. Replace those torn and faded sheets and invest on better comforters. Take a picture of your room’s new look and show it to the experts in the department store so they can help you choose a matching set of sheets.
A lot of people easily get intimated just by thinking about remodeling their bedrooms, when in fact it can be very easy. You just need to accept the fact that you need change and that you need to let go of some important things. Change is good, especially if your current disposition does not excite you anymore. Your bedroom is your haven, so might as well get on your feet, follow these tips and start giving your bedroom and improved look.
