New Trends In Bathroom Design

Posted on February 13, 2019

If you haven’t redesigned your bathroom in a while, it is probably looking a bit tacky and outdated by now. Interior design tends to be a fast-moving field, and new trends and innovations come down the line all the time. If you are looking for the next big things in bathroom design, here are a few ideas.

Go for larger, roomier shower areas

The trend is moving toward more spacious shower areas, but its not all about just size. You might also want to consider freeing up space by doing away with the dividing wall. It will take some careful planning with regard to drainage, but you may appreciate the less restrictive and more flowing design that a roomier shower are provides.

The return of the tub

The bathtub had fallen out of fashion somewhat over the past couple of decades, but it seems to be making a comeback of sorts. In fact, many bathroom designs that had previously incorporated Jacuzzis have gone back to tubs in a big way, albeit in more streamlined and trimmer variants. With a bit of reorganization, a tub might just work for your bathroom.

Let there be light

With newer and more welcoming bathroom designs, people are more interested in spending a lot of time there throughout the day. Careful consideration should therefore be made to the lighting in the bathroom. You should especially make sure that you have enough light for your needs whether during the day or at night.

Consider steam

Nowadays, installing a steam bath in your bathroom isn’t as outlaid an idea as it would have been only a decade or so ago. Steam systems aren’t all that expensive nowadays, and a couple of thousand should be sufficient investment for a decent model. You will have to make adjustments to your bathroom design of course, but the results will definitely be worth it.
